Don Dunning is a member of numerous professional organizations and Realtor networks throughout the United States and Canada. As such, he is in a unique position to help you buy or sell locally, as well as in other areas.
Since 1979, Don has been a full-time Realtor specializing in Oakland and nearby communities. He is also a consultant on an hourly basis and an expert witness in real estate matters.
Don’s approach is to educate buyers and sellers about the local market so they can make informed decisions. This is the impetus behind his popular newspaper column, What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You, which appears regularly in the Oakland Tribune/ANG Newspapers and The Montclarion/Hills Newspapers.

The regard of Don's peers is reflected in the fact that he was the 2004 President of the Oakland Association of Realtors (OAR) and was elected OAR Realtor of the Year, 2005.
Don serves on the OAR board of directors, OAR Multiple Listing Service board of directors, is a director and Vice Chair of East Bay Regional Data.
He is a director of the California Association of Realtors (C.A.R.), a member of the C.A.R. MLS/Computer and Business Technology Committee, Professional Standards Committee and Realtor Risk Management and Consumer Protection Forum. He is also a senior member of the OAR Professional Standards Committee.
Don is a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Certified Residential Brokerage Manager (CRB). Fewer than 2% of Realtors nationwide hold these dual designations. He also has earned the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) and the Real Estate Cyberspace Society (RECS) designations.
Much of his business comes from previous clients and referrals. "Representing Your Best Interests" is not just Don’s slogan; it is an indication of the value and respect he gives to every client. His theme as OAR President was, "It is not how much business we do, but how we do business."
